What to Expect When We Create a Plan of Action

At Keeping the P.E.A.C.E., creating a plan of action is all about setting your child up for success with a clear, personalized strategy. Here’s how the process works:

1. Identifying Concerns First, we’ll discuss and review any concerns you have about your child’s academic performance, behavior, or overall school experience. We’ll also look at any feedback from teachers, assessments, or school records to get a full picture of where support is needed.
2. Setting Goals Together, we’ll outline specific, realistic goals for your child’s progress. These could be academic improvements, behavioral changes, or ensuring they receive proper accommodations. We’ll make sure the goals are tailored to your child’s unique needs.
3. Developing Strategies Based on the concerns and goals, we’ll create actionable steps to address each area. This might include tutoring, behavioral interventions, requesting additional support from the school, or advocating for changes in your child’s IEP or 504 Plan.
4. Coordinating with the School We’ll also help you communicate effectively with the school to ensure that they’re on board with the plan. This might involve attending meetings with you or helping draft emails or letters to request specific services or accommodations.
5. Tracking Progress Once the plan is in place, we’ll continue to monitor your child’s progress and adjust the plan as needed. If something isn’t working, we’ll tweak it to make sure your child stays on track toward their goals.
6. Ongoing Support We’re here to provide ongoing support, whether it’s revisiting the plan, preparing for future meetings, or celebrating your child’s successes. We’ll stick with you through the process, ensuring the plan is effective and your child is thriving.
