It's Not Who's the Problem... But What's the Problem and How Do We Fix It.
My little one was struggling in school and they helped me facilitate learning activities, resources outside of the school, and helped walk me through the process of getting help through the school. My little one is now thriving has not fallen behind, and I have a greater understanding thanks to their help about the process and her dyslexia.
From day one when my child and I met with Mrs. Sylvia, I left feeling like I had someone on our side that could help us with the struggle my child was having from Elementary until present day. She evaluated my child and went over the process thoroughly as to what she was doing and why this needed to be done. Sylvia was very confident and remained in touch with me throughout the entire process, she was also there for me whenever I had questions about what my child was going through while testing was being done. She provided me the best services and even broke down the tough and very confusing educational lingo and testing that I didnt understand, Sylvia was very resourceful as well, from providing me with very important numbers I needed to showing me how to request complete school records for my child. If I ever came upon a stumbling block she was right there to guide me over it and keep the process flowing smoothly. Mrs Sylvia was there to guide me in any way that I needed help during this process. My family is forever grateful to Mrs Sylvia Scottt!!
Sylvia is amazing! She truly understands what it is like to be a parent watching your child struggle and having your child fall through the cracks in the system . She advocates for children and families while working collaboratively with the school system and outside resources. Sylvia saved my child’s education and gave me the courage to advocate for my child in a system that failed him . She help him also to understand his emotions and life skills and made me understand as a parent she help me understand rights in the educational system for a child with a learning disability and hypertension disorder.
Mrs. Scott started working with my son in third grade. She tested him and identified what was causing his struggles in reading. He didn't have basic phonics and blends, in speaking and because of this comprehension was a struggle. With the help through tutoring my son has closed some of the gap.and has been able to become a better student in the classroom with some accomodations. Thanks for helping me help my child by advocating for him and knowing what his struggles were.
I am sincerely grateful for your dedication and hard work in helping my son, Kamari, improve his reading skills. Since Kamari began working with KTP of June 20 2023, I have seen a remarkable improvement in his understanding decoding words, confidence, fluency, comprehension, enthusiasm, and eagerness to read.. He is now reading in front of his family and friends at school, more engaged in reading different types of books, tackling challenging texts with ease, and nightly reading without me forcing or negotiating something. KTP is a positive influence on my son's grades, going froma 45 to a 75 in read. Your patience, enthusiasm, and teaching style have made a real difference in Kamari's progress. I am truly grateful for your commitment to his education.Thank you once again for everything you do. Sincerely, Denise
